Alex Kirk, the 2014 undrafted Cleveland Cavaliers rookie center, was signed to a contract back in August.
He had a fair showing in the preseason, averaging five points, three rebounds and just under one block in nearly 15 minutes of play. Over the weekend, he was informed that he had made the team’s 15-man roster. The former University of New Mexico college starter will likely see time with the team’s D-League affiliate, the Canton Charge, before he gets time with the actual roster.
Unfortunately, for a rookie from New Mexico, that leaves one problem to be solved: Where to lay his head.
He addressed the situation on Twitter:
So I need to get an apartment in Cleveland I guess

Kirk, then, re-tweeted one of his followers with a clever Photoshop job.
“@kingkirk53: So I need to get an apartment in Cleveland I guess” Hey @KingJames, can AK crash for a few? pic.twitter.com/oDtbqSrJlG

Perhaps LeBron James should give some consideration to helping the rookie out. It would certainly demonstrate how much he cares for his teammates.
It’s not unprecedented for a young player to seek the hospitality of his teammates. When he played for the New York Knicks, Jeremy Lin slept on former teammate Landry Field’s couch.
