The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled for much of the season in the early going with limited bodies and a tough schedule.
So far, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers have faced Houston, Phoenix twice, Golden State, L.A. Clippers, Charlotte and Memphis. Aside from maybe Phoenix, those are all squads expected to be tough playoff teams in the West. They’ve lost all the games to the West teams, while managing to beat the Hornets at home.
Are better times ahead for the Lakers? Will they improve once Nick Young returns to bolster the bench? It’s tough to hope for when the team is 1-6 to start things off. Reggie Miller, in particular, thinks it’s comical to hope for them to make the playoffs. In fact, he thinks they will be lucky to win 22 games.

.@BigBabyJonathan 22 games, that may be generous..

Ouch.
Again, the Lakers have played against tough opponents with a shorthanded team. That said, it’s no secret that they simply don’t have the personnel to be a good defensive team. Their offense is actually pretty good (11th best team!), though, so maybe they can out-execute the lesser teams once the schedule gets a bit lighter as they continue to get acclimated with each other. There is still time for the Lakers to figure things out and start winning more games than they have so far.
Maybe I’m just being hopeful.

22 wins for Lakers? I’d say the under/over is 15 wins for Lakers and 9 for Sixers.
Deron Williams must be LOL at Kobe setting NBA record for most misses. Kobe had mocked DWill for being afraid to shoot more, when having a bad night.
Lakers are now checking out D-League players to help improve roster (not a joke).
