Let no one say that Houston Rockets guard James Harden, for whatever his shortcomings may be, is incapable of getting a laugh, even at his own expense.
The two-time NBA All-Star took to Twitter Wednesday to share a couple new commercial spots that he is appearing in. The first being one for ESPN — one of their “This is SportsCenter” spots that routinely utilizes professional athletes in a comedic scenario.
In this setting, ESPN anchor Kenny Mayne is explaining the network’s reliance on satellite technology, then all heck breaks loose as satellite feeds start dropping.
Technical issues @SportsCenter ? I got it. #ThisIsSportsCenter http://t.co/nrNjSWOy70

The best part is probably seeing Harden maintaining a composed poker-face while lying about the status of the satellites, which are dropping left and right, to the producer at ESPN.
Not to be overlooked or overshadowed is a commercial for Foot Locker. As the NBA season continues to roll on and Christmas season nears, sneakerheads everywhere are preparing for a slew of signature shoes to release, in what Foot Locker calls the “Week of Greatness.” Harden’s is but one of a few great spots in this hilarious advertising campaign.
Me? Defensive? Never. I’ll see you guys at the #WeekofGreatness @footlocker! http://t.co/L2iQzvrXMb

This one might be even better because Harden is taking a self-deprecating shot at his own reputation as a terrible defensive basketball player. Last season, he posted a defensive real plus/minus (DRPM) of -2.84. Yes, that’s NEGATIVE 2.84. That number was good enough to rank him 398th among all active NBA players.
It’s quite humorous to see him taking jabs at his own defensiveness (or lack thereof).
