Metta World Peace (or Panda’s Friend, if you prefer) has been adamant about the Los Angeles Lakers being a playoff team this year, and they did him proud by beating the Atlanta Hawks on the road 114-109.

It’s unclear if the former NBA player is being serious with some of the claims he has been making as of late, but you’d hope that he’s joking and simply encouraging his former team.
With the victory on Tuesday, the Lakers raised their record to 2-9 and remained the second worst team in the entire league. For what it’s worth, the team had been playing shorthanded, but saw the return of Nick Young aka “Swaggy P”, who scored an easy 17 points and looked as though he didn’t skip a beat.
Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant was much more selective with his attempts in this game, scoring an efficient 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field. He also hit a major milestone during the contest, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and Michael Jordan as the only players in the history of the NBA to score at least 32,000 points. Bryant’s teammate Jeremy Lin, who notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists in the contest, had this to say about the shooting guard’s accomplishment:
Great team win…welcome back @NickSwagyPYoung!! Me and @kobebryant are now combined for about 32,500 career points lol
