The reigning league MVP is back!
At least, he will be. Word broke Tuesday afternoon that the Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant would be making his debut against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing the first 17 games of the season with a Jones Stress Fracture in his right foot.
The team broke the news on Twitter, sharing an interview with Durant.
Kevin Durant to make his 2014-15 season debut tonight. Hear from him @ https://t.co/SnY2eRwi1M

At present, the Thunder have a 5-12 record in the 2014-15 NBA season. That has them sitting in 12th place in the Western Conference. All-Star guard Russell Westbrook just returned to the lineup three games ago, in which time they have won two straight games heading into New Orleans.
The two-game win streak is a promising start with Durant returning to the active roster, however they will have to push real hard over the remainder of the season to ensure that they are among the eight teams representing the west in the 2014-15 NBA Playoffs.
NBA on TNT analyst Reggie Miller explains.
With the MVP (KD) in uniform tonight, Thunder have to go 45-20 rest of the way to make playoffs, possible??

And if so, who drops out of Top 8 as we speak (text)….

Considering the teams ahead of them in the Western Conference standings and how well many of those teams have played thus far in the season, it’s hard to say which, if any, will falter as the season progresses.
In the event that the team does not make the playoffs, the silver lining may be that in the absence of their superstars head coach Scott Brooks and the Thunder may have found a legitimate third wheel offensively. Reggie Jackson has certainly been a bright spot in the early going of this season, having improved his production across the board.
This season, Jackson is averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game — all career highs.
