Okay, sure, being the Houston Rockets general manager, Daryl Morey may have a strong bias when asking people to vote for his team’s players for the All-Star game. That’s a fair point of criticism.
However, considering how often shooting guard James Harden is maligned for his defensive ability (or lack thereof), Morey makes a good case for his star guard.
Rockets have 2nd best D in NBA w/@JHarden13 on floor& he is holding his opponent 2lower FG% than Kawhi+Klay #nbaballot #mvp Retweet 2vote!

Anyone who knows anything about Morey knows that the guy knows his numbers. He is a Northwestern University computer science (with an emphasis on statistics) graduate, and he has an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. Given his background, he’s an advanced metrics guru and is a mainstay at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.
It might be worth while to take him at his word.
Perhaps, Harden has turned the corner defensively. Still, the season is hardly over. His improved play may merit consideration for the All-Star game, but that may be all for now.
