If you were using twitter on Christmas, you might have noticed the word “Temecula” trending everywhere.
Hell, it’s still trending.
Basically, well, you can read about what happened here. To make a long story short, two men (as you can see in the photoshopped work of a twitter user) on twitter got into an argument about Kobe Bryant and some other basketball-related things and decided it was time to take things to the next level by meeting up in Temecula (one of them did, anyway) to duke it out.
The story took a life of its own, and everyone has been having a blast with it, as you can see here (it’s truly hilarious, so do scroll through it).
After watching James Harden dominate on Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, the official Houston Rockets twitter handle joined in on the Temecula fun:
If anyone says James Harden isn’t the MVP right now, we’ll drive to Temecula to fight them. #NBABallotpic.twitter.com/aaAyHMj6SW
— Houston Rockets (@HoustonRockets) December 27, 2014
Harden concluded the 117-111 overtime victory with 32 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field, eight rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks. With a line like that, it was about as good a time as any to state the case for Harden as the MVP up to this point of the season. The Rockets now have a 1/2 game lead on the Grizzlies for first place in the Southwest Division.
Harden, by the way, also had some beef with Kevin McHale during the game for this:
For what it’s worth, that’s the same shoulder where he has been sporting some protective tape around.
