Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has paired up with Adidas for his first signature shoe, the D Lillard 1. Lillard is playing only his third year in the league, but is already becoming one of the premiere point guards.
The sixth-overall pick in the 2012 draft out of Weber State, he’s averaging a career-high 22.2 points per game while dishing out 6.3 assists and grabbing 4.8 rebounds this season.
Dame unveiled his shoes on Tuesday at a “Dame Loves the Fans” event at the Moda Center.
Here are a couple looks at his first signature shoe posted to Instagram by Lillard.
I always dreamed of having my own shoe. My first@adidashoops signature shoe drops Feb 6 for $105. Let me know what y’all think of the #DLillard1!#DameTime”, he captioned under the photo.
Here’s another look he posted to Instagram on Tuesday as well.
“Wearing my #RipCity colorway of the #DLillard1 for the first time tomorrow against the Clippers on@espn.”
The right shoe features the Adidas logo, and the left has the new D Lillard logo on it.
Jake Silver of Bleacher Report has more on the new logo from Lillard and Adidas:
•The all-new D Lillard logo is comprised of a D and an L fusing together to create a “0.”
•D: represents Damian’s first name.
•L: represents Damian’s last name and family.
•0: Damian’s number on the court, which he chose to symbolize the letter “O” for the three places he’s called home: Oakland, California; Ogden, Utah; and Oregon.
•A wing made of three stripes represents his crew of close friends, the “Fly Guyz.”
As Dame said in the captions under the photos, his first signature shoe will be available February 6th for $105. He’ll wear them for the first time on Wednesday night when the Trail Blazers host the Los Angeles Clippers on ESPN.
