Today’s Photo of the Day doesn’t come from an NBA player. Instead it comes from someone who covers the NBA on TNT for Turner Sports, among many other things, the talented Rachel Nichols.
She’s very good at what she does and knows what she’s talking about. However, the side of her job that we don’t usually get to see on television is probably the hardest part about it: traveling.
You have to give her props for all the flying and daily traveling she does, even though it’s required with her job covering a wide variety of sports/news topics. If it were me on the other hand, I don’t know if I could handle it if she had a lot of days like she did today.
She traveled to three cities in one day, all of which she posted photos to her Instagram on Wednesday to document for her followers.
First up, New York.
“Airplane view:
Here was my sunrise takeoff in #NewYork this morning (yes, that’s Manhattan in the back there). City 1 of 3 today. #CrossCountryMarathon #ThreeTimeZones#letsGo”.
Next stop: Seattle.
“Airplane view:
Mid afternoon, a stop in #Seattle and a view of#MountRainier. City 2 of 3 today.#CrossCountryMarathon #ThreeTimeZones #letsGo”.
And finally: Chicago.
“Airplane view:
Nighttime – final stop, #Chicago. City 3 of 3 today.#CrossCountryMarathon #ThreeTimeZones #letsGo”.
Wow. Talk about a long day.
From New York to Seattle, the flight is estimated at 5 hours and 28 minutes. From Seattle to Chicago, the average flight takes 3 hours and 31 minutes, according to travelmath.com.
So, overall she spent at least 8 hours and 59 minutes on an airplane. No thanks.
Again, kudos to you Rachel. All that traveling on an airplane would have my head spinning.
