It’s a lo
ng season in the NBA, as 82 games can seem like they last forever. For rookies, those 82 games can’t go by quick enough for a number of reasons.
Of course, there’s the fact that they’re probably extremely nervous to be playing professionally in front of thousands of fans and against the best competition in the world, wanting to get the first-year jitters and rookie slumps behind them.
But for photo of the day’s sake, rookies want the season to end for one reason only: Pictures of them doing rookie duties.
We’ve hand a number of them before on POTD, but today’s is a new one we haven’t yet seen this year.
Los Angeles Lakers rookie Tarik Black, the former Kansas product, was spotted with a couple rookie duties/rules he had to abide by on Sunday night when they took on his former team, the Houston Rockets, who waived him in December.

“Rookie Duties”, was all that was captioned for the photo.
I really hope that’s what was happening here, for Black’s sake. Actually, he kinda looks like he’s enjoying it in a weird way. Like he’s got a protective look on his face for his little girl doll or something like that.
Another photo, which was posted to Instagram by Black, gave a little info behind his pretty little princess in the picture above.
“Everybody say hey to the newest member of the Black family…Keziah Black!!! #RookieHazing #ThanksCoach”.
Maybe it’s just me, but those two dolls and strollers look completely different. Is he out shopping for toy strollers and accessorizing for his doll?? That’s very, uh, nice of you Tarik.
You’ll also notice in the first picture he’s got on his girly backpack, a classic rookie hazing by NBA players. It’ll never get old. I just wish we could see what’s on the backpack…
