Photo of the Day: Marion Goes Looney (Tunes)

Flashy socks are apparently a trend these days, with a number of famous athletes sporting socks with all kinds of things on them.

One of those athletes plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers: Shawn Marion. He actually posts the socks he wears for every game since the season began, but these were by far the best I’ve seen.

If you don’t get the title at first, you’ll get it after you see the picture, which Marion posted to Instagram on Friday before the Cavs won their ninth straight game over the Sacramento Kings 101-90.

“#socksofday tweety bird lol”.

So, if you know who Tweet Bird is, you get the headline of the POTD. If you don’t get the play on words there, then, obviously you never watched cartoons before. The Looney Tunes were some of the greatest cartoons with the most memorable and recognizable characters of all-time.

Marion calls them his “#Socksoftheday”, which he does every day before a game.

As I said before, these are probably my favorite socks I’ve seen from an athlete. We see all kinds of socks with cool designs or older famous athletes such as Michael Jordan on them, but I’ve never seen one with a Looney Tunes character on it yet.

I really want to see some with Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck, even Elmer Fudd would be awesome to see on a sock!

Oh wait…
