Gobert, you’re a poster!
That’s what Portland Trail Blazers color commentator Mike Rice proudly beamed as the snubbed All-Star Damian Lillard drove into the paint and soared in for a dunk over Rudy Gobert on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz:
The two teams played down to the wire, but the Trail Blazers edged the Jazz 103-102. Lillard led his team with 25 points, four rebounds and six assists.
The dunk was particularly impressive, given how tough Gobert is on the defensive end of the floor: heading into the contest, the center was allowing opponents to shoot 37.1 percent at the rim – the stingiest mark in the league. Ricky Rubio saw the jam and had a simple reaction:
That @Dame_Lillard dunk… Wow

Gobert also had something to say after the contest (presumably after seeing some of his mentions):
Yeah the best rim protector of the @NBA gets dunked on sometimes

It appears Gobert has been reading up on some of his numbers. Boast, big man. Boast!
