NEW YORK – NBA labor talks will resume Saturday.
That is the word from Roger Mason of the players’ union executive committee; which just concluded a meeting at union headquarters in Harlem.
Mason said the emphasis on the split of BRI keeping the sides apart was a “misperception.”
“It’s about much more than 50 or 52 or whatever. There is still a system that hasn’t been addressed,” Mason said.

Is there anyway that I could contract Chris Sheridan ?
dan says
well, part of the system is that some owner will pay for more baby sitters and strippers.

David Aldridge, says the 50/50 is a little overplayed. Basically there are two deals the owners put on the table. 47/53 with a system staying somewhat similar or 50/50 and a system that the owners would prefer.
Ie, Owners either want higher guaranteed yearly profits by getting more BRI enough to make them not care about player movement, or they want a league where they have more control over player’s salaries and movements with a less favorable year to year economics.

Translation of Mason’s comments: it’s going to be 50/50 but in order to soften the blow to our ego, we have to figure out something with the “system” that we can say we got.

I know what they can say they got. A job that pays millions.
Time to stop posing and do what you know you have to do.

And we are supposed to think that Roger Mason Jr. is telling the truth I think not.. I think a deal is 95% done and the sticking point is the (BRI) at 50/50……
