Highlight Performances:
Monta Ellis, GS– If you spent an early round selection on Monta Ellis, well then, feel free to brag. Ellis scored 38 points tonight, along with 7 assists. But the key here is with Stephen Curry out indefinitely after re-injuring his ankle, Ellis figures to see a heavy dose of scoring opportunities until further notice. Move him up on your cheat sheets, and consider 25 points a game a distinct possibility.
Jrue Holiday, PHI– Holiday scored 23 points in Wednesday night’s win over the Hornets, but that does not come even close to how well he played down the stretch. Holiday made huge shots towards the end of the 4th quarter to seal the deal in New Orleans, and he is shaping out to be a fine NBA player. Expect around 17 points a game and 6-7 assists from here on out.
Performances to Forget:
Luol Deng, CHI– I personally did not watch the Bulls game, so can not accurately describe why Deng was so inactive Wednesday Night. He played 38 minutes and scored only 2 points on 1-6 shooting. Deng has played well all season, so this game does seem a bit fluky. Hopefully he bounces back in the primetime matchup vs. the Orlando Magic.
David West, IND– West had 9 points and 4 rebounds Wednesday Night, as he continued his somewhat disappointing season in Indiana. He is averaging only 11 points a game, and seems to be a non-factor every night. Owners expected somewhat of a drop-off from West this season, but he has yet to score 20 points this season and it doesn’t look like it will get much better. Sell high if possible.
Players to Watch:
Marshon Brooks, NJ– The Rookie out of Providence seems to be the lone bright spot for the Nets these Days. With Deron Williams and Kris Humphries out, Brooks posted another solid scoring outing, with 17 points in 34 minutes of action. Brooks has been scoring in double figures all season long, and as long as the Nets let him play and allow him to shoot 15 times a night, 15 points a game may be a possibility for the youngster.
Iman Shumpert, NY– Sticking with the Rookies, Shumpert returned to the Knicks lineup scoring 18 points including hitting 4 from long range. Shumpert may not score 18 points very often, but he is on an offensively talented Knicks squad that is desperate for a solid 6th man to replace Douglas and/or Fields. He is worth a grab in deep-leagues, however shallow league owners should monitor the situation and see how he responds the next few games.

I wrote about his injury on Monday, as well as Richard Jefferson receiving an increase in value accordingly. Injuries I post are ones occurring on that specific day.
