If I was a betting man (and I will be later this week in Las Vegas), I would bet that 85 year old Orlando Magic owner Rich DeVos elects NOT to trade Dwight Howard. To put it delicately, you’re only 85 once.
More on that in the video; plus a report on test week for the Clippers and Kevin Durant’s plunge to 4th in the scoring race.

If this Orlando business plays out anything like it did with Lebron in Cleveland, he’s out for sure if the Magic don’t bring in someone that can give their team a chance to win if he has a crappy game. Too easy to look around at all the other guys who have somebody else on board who can give them a shot to win a game or two if the big guy tweaks an ankle.
He’s doing the right thing in letting them know in advance that he doesn’t see himself sticking around; it gives them a chance to decide whether to upgrade the roster, trade him for something back, or let him leave for blatant tanking purposes.
Who knows, maybe they’ll want a test case to see if the “stay home” salary bonus actually works. If it doesn’t, you can be sure that the franchise tag comes up again in 6 years.

Surefire way to get Dwight to Brooklyn. Helps Nets hang onto Marshon Brooks and possibly Brook Lopez as well, in addition to a fantastic pick.
