Reader Alex set a SheridanHoops record, providing the correct answer to last week’s Bernucca List in a mere five minutes.
I know we say this every week, but this list is tougher, simply because it has an additional parameter that must be included in your answer.
Think you know it? Send me a Tweet or post it as a comment. Happy brainstorming!
The Bernucca List
Mike Bibby |
Kobe Bryant |
Ronnie Brewer |
Stephen Curry |
Mike Dunleavy |
Al Horford |
Wesley Matthews |
Steve Lardner says
Ronnie Brewer has not averaged more ppg than his Dad. 9.4 compared to 11.9
Chris says
Steve,
Technically, you are correct. However, what we were going for was “NBA players who are better than their fathers.” Regardless of what Pops Brewer averaged, I saw him play. He was OK for a while and then became a fringe player. He was never part of a true winning team and bounced around a lot before his exit. His one really good stat year was with a 15-win team.
In my mind, there’s no doubt the kid is a better player than his father. Hope that clears things up. Thanks for reading.

Good guess on 2nd parameter, but incorrect.
TShaka Jackson says
All of their fathers played in the NBA
Chris Bernucca says
Right – but the same applies to John Lucas III, Austin Daye, etc. Why aren’t they on the list? Your answer is incomplete
