Reader Alex set a SheridanHoops record, providing the correct answer to last week’s Bernucca List in a mere five minutes.
I know we say this every week, but this list is tougher, simply because it has an additional parameter that must be included in your answer.
Think you know it? Send me a Tweet or post it as a comment. Happy brainstorming!
The Bernucca List
Mike Bibby |
Kobe Bryant |
Ronnie Brewer |
Stephen Curry |
Mike Dunleavy |
Al Horford |
Wesley Matthews |
Ronnie Brewer has not averaged more ppg than his Dad. 9.4 compared to 11.9
Steve,
Technically, you are correct. However, what we were going for was “NBA players who are better than their fathers.” Regardless of what Pops Brewer averaged, I saw him play. He was OK for a while and then became a fringe player. He was never part of a true winning team and bounced around a lot before his exit. His one really good stat year was with a 15-win team.
In my mind, there’s no doubt the kid is a better player than his father. Hope that clears things up. Thanks for reading.

I tweeted Chris Sheridan the answer: They all are 2nd Generation players and are currently on a team where their father ALSO played!
That’s not it, is it? 🙁
Jellybean Bryant never played for the Lake Show…
All had fathers who played in the NBA and all have averaged 10 points per game or more in at least one NBA season.
All NBA players who wear numbers equal to or higher than the numbers their fathers wore for a large part of their careers.
All had fathers who were drafted in the NBA.
Fathers played in the league but the kid has a higher career scoring average
We have a winner!
Doesn’t Ronnie Brewer have a lower scoring average than his father, Ron?
Their fathers all played NBA ball and also won state championships in High School
All had fathers who played in the NBA and all spent a portion of their lives overseas.
Their fathers played in the NBA and have had some sort of affiliation with the Bucks
all of their fathers played in both the ABA and NBA
I got it….all had father’s who played in the NBA and all were named “Mr. Basketball” when they were younger
Their fathers all played in the league and they all speak a second language.
All are 2nd Gen players (fathers played) and they all wear Nike’s?
Ok ok – all are 2nd Gen players and they all have played in an All Star Rookie/Sophomore game.
All their fathers played in the NBA, all went from sixth man to starter
All had fathers that played in the NBA and are/were coaches.
All had fathers in the NBA and have shot over 69% from the line for their careers. This is a fact, if not what you were going for. 🙂
All had fathers who played in the NBA and were also coaches.
fathers in the nba who coached or played in the town their children have played?
All had fathers in the NBA and all were lottery picks
Except for Wes Matthews, who wasn’t drafted.
And none of the dad’s were lottery picks, since they were all drafted before the lottery
Current NBA players whose father played in the NBA for the Lakers or Hornets . . . or in Italy, or something.
Everyone on the list has a father who played in the NBA, and each of the fathers played for either the 76ers or the Bucks.
Good guess on 2nd parameter, but incorrect.
All of their fathers played in the NBA
Right – but the same applies to John Lucas III, Austin Daye, etc. Why aren’t they on the list? Your answer is incomplete
