Highlight Performance:
Deron Williams, NJ– The Nets may be facing a lost season, but Williams is still producing like a top-15 fantasy asset. His productivity continued Wednesday Night, as he scored 24 points, dished out 10 assists, and even grabbed 8 rebounds. Williams should continue to post great scoring and assist stats, and if he can continue to dial-up from long-range (4-9 3pt’s) and stay healthy, his solid season should continue.
Performance to Forget:
Danilo Gallinari, DEN– The 6’10 forward out of Italy had his quietest game of the season, posting just 3 points on only 1-3 shooting. Gallinari had been having a solid season to this point, averaging close to 16 points, but he was shockingly non-aggresive when it came to scoring Wednesday Night. I don’t see this as anything more as a quiet night were he was simply not involved, however I’d like to se a nice bounce-back game Friday vs. Washington.
Player to Watch:
Mo Williams, LAC– Mo has always been a good scorer throughout his career, so seeing him post huge numbers Wednesday Night is not a huge surprise. He scored 26 points on an amazing 11-15 shooting, and seemed to be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Williams was the odd man out on the wake of the Chris Paul trade, and he has been fighting like a warrior for minutes ever since. Being that Chris Paul commands 35+ minutes a night and almost likewise with Chauncey Billups, even on his best shooting nights he may find himself on the bench. Although Williams will produce greatly off the bench and provide good numbers, there is almost no chance that he replaces Billups in the starting lineup, and even if he is able to snag a few more minutes a game, his value will always be limited due to the greater guards ahead of him. He will always provide numbers, but his upside is truly limited.
