Highlight Performance:
Stephen Curry, GS– The former Davidson star had a huge night on wednesday, posting 32 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and hit 6-8 from long
range. Curry is a huge talent and a fantastic shooter, but his all-around production wednesday was phenomenal. The key for Curry this season has been health, as he has only played in 8 games due to his problematic ankle. If his ankle can hold up, he is one of the best offensive guards in the game, and huge numbers are expected on a nightly basis.
Performances to Forget:
Kyrie Irving, CLE– The first-overall pick in this year’s draft has been great this season, averaging close to 17 points and 5 assists a game. But he was quiet on wednesday, scoring 7 points on 1-7 shooting. Although he matched his career high with 7 assists, this was the first time since his first game that he failed to score in double-figures. However, the rookie is incredibly talented, and should continue to produce with regularity after he shakes off this poor effort.
Players to Watch:
Ronnie Brewer, CHI– With Deng sitting out with an injury, Brewer stepped into the starting lineup last night to score 20 points, along with 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 5 assists. Brewer has been wildly inconsistent, but when given opportunity and ample minutes, he produces quite successfully. I am not recommending him in shallow formats, however in deep leagues with thin waiver wires, he’s worth a flier if Deng cannot stay healthy.
