This is my web site, but it isn’t about me. It is about basketball, from the preps to the pros to the international game to the fantasy world, and we are continuing to grow.
Today, I want to introduce two new contributors to the site, joining a staff that already includes Hall of Famer Mark Heisler, wordsmith Jan Hubbard, machine/animal Chris Bernucca and many, many others.
The first addition is Kent Williams, who will be writing daily fantasy updates for those of our readers who play fantasy basketball. His first post went up this morning, and it is tight, timely and terrific.
A fan of the NBA since Havlicek stole the ball, Williams has owned fantasy basketball teams since 2001. His Alcindor Skyhooks are defending champions of the Peach Baskets league. Kent has written about fantasy baseball for ESPN, The Hardball Times and Batter’s Box, which he founded in 2002.
Formerly a horseman, track announcer, racing secretary and publicist in the harness racing industry, he wrote columns about the sport for several Ontario newspapers and features for TROT Magazine and The Canadian Sportsman.
Now a technical support consultant and web designer, “Coach” runs his fantasy squads much like his high school baseball teams: Apply constant pressure, take advantage of every opportunity and hope your opponents make mistakes. A Toronto native, frustrated for years with Raptors mismanagement, he remains excited about young, fresh and fly Jonas Valanciunas.
The second addition is James Park, who will be writing many of our morning roundups — a feature you can find on no other NBA Web site.
Park moved to the United States after living the first 10 years of his life in South Korea. He studied at Rutgers and is currently the Vice President of Quest International Limousine in Manhattan. He learned about the heart of a champion as he watched Michael Jordan, playing his final season as a Bull, knock down a game winning jump shot over Bryon Russell and fell in love with the game of basketball.
Since then, basketball has been a true life obsession as he follows every detail possible when it comes to the NBA and continues to be a student of the game. James is an aspiring writer of the NBA. He has played and run his own fantasy basketball leagues expertly since 2002, managing over 30 teams in that span. James also has a youtube channel (www.youtube.com/tupark82) that involves all things basketball, and blogs(tupark82.wordpress.com) about basketball in his spare time. You can follow him on twitter @tupark82, where he will go on and on about the game he loves.
