- Tracy McGrady was clearly upset with his playing time lately, telling the Atlanta Journal-Constitution “I’m tired of this (garbage)”. Drew said he met with McGrady to discuss his comments, and that it was handled “in house”.
- Deron Williams became the 5th player since 1979 to make eight 3-pointers and 10 free throws in the same game. 15 of his 22 field goal attempts were from at least 20 feet away, and he did not hit his first two-point field goal until the 1:06 mark in the third quarter, his 35th and 36th points of the game.
- Dallas swept their season series against the Celtics for the second season in a row.
- The Grizzlies controlled the paint against the Rockets, outscoring them 58-38 in that area, but still lost 97-93.
- Durant was named Western Conference player of the week.
- Kendrick Perkins was called for his 10th technical foul of the season. Although under review, players are suspended after 13 technical in one season.
- Rick Rubio and Ty Lawson faced off, both drafted by the Timberwolves in the 2009 draft. Rubio was drafted 5th overall, Ty lawson was 19th (later traded to the Nuggets). Andre Miller had 12 assists before his ejection, filling in for Ty Lawson who rolled his ankle.
- The last time the Wizards beat the Suns was Dec. 22, 2006, when Gilbert Arenas scored 54 points in an overtime victory. Phoenix led by as much as 27 against the Lakers and 26 against the Wizards.
