It really is fun seeing our guys' heart. Crazy year full of changes, ups & downs...they keep grinding.

When I wrote an article bashing Mike D’Antoni a few weeks back, I received a ton of negative feedback. I was relatively harsh, claiming he was a terrible coach, and his demise is welcomed with open arms. Those were just a few of the insults I threw at D’Antoni, and readers were a bit irked by my apparent “over-exxageration”. Well, the Knicks are 8-1 under Mike Woodson, with their only loss coming to the Raptors. Whether or not the success can be attributed to Woodson is hard to say, but it goes to show the departure of D’Antoni seemed to be a positive thing. The Knicks look great right now, but Amare Stoudemire will be missed.

I hate to bring that iccky thing called nuance into the discussion, but D’Antoni is no where near the horrible coach that you claim he is and the Knicks are better off under Woodson. For whatever reason, the Knicks two star players were playing poorly under Coach D. and they have been rejuvenated under Woodson. Since the offensive and defensive sets are almost the same now as a month ago, maybe its because Woodson demands accountability while D’Antoni essentially said, you are a man you figure out what it takes to bring it every night. Maybe its because Coach Woodson slowed things up and the team works better at a slower pace. I don’t know. At the end of the day it really does not matter cause the Knicks are winning. But irrational hate never can replace real analysis. Do yourself and your readers the favor of understanding that.

Never claimed to “hate” D’Antoni. I never questioned whether or not he knew X’s and O’s, but his ability to coach big-time players (like Carmelo, Amare) seemed poor. Like you said, I don’t know. I know the Knicks are winning, and I am forced to attribute it to the departure of D. That is not irrational hate.
