Okur can be claimed on waivers, but the claiming team must honor his contract. If he clears waivers, he becomes a free agent. A 7-footer with 3-point range who can rebound a little, Okur would be

Tonight’s best game: New York at Philadelphia
The rollercoaster of a season continues for the New York Knicks. What seemed like a hopelessly lost season just a week ago has turned into a revitalizing one. Since the Mike Woodson era began, Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks (22-24) have displayed the type of defensive effort that was never present when Mike D’Antoni was still around, and the results have been astoundingly good. Agent Mark Bartelstein said 10 teams had expressed interest in signing the veteran. Whether Turiaf can remain healthy enough to contribute remains an open question, but he will

Against my better judgment, I got up on his tail and applied some pressure, but he refused to go any faster or move into the right lane. Somewhat annoyed, I drove right behind him for about a quarter-mile before a gap opened in the

It takes 48 hours to clear waivers, meaning Diaw could sign with a playoff contender as soon as Friday. Tony Parker is expected will lobby hard, according to Tim Griffin of the San Antonio Express-News, to add Diaw
Heisler’s Wednesday Power Rankings

To recapitulate: I never thought he was going anywhere before June and he didn’t. I didn’t think it would
