During LeBron James’ incredible performance in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals (Boxscore here), a few things of note happened with the fans of the Celtics. Lets have a gander, shall we?

Much was made of the fact that a fan dared to throw the ball at the head of an unsuspecting Dwyane Wade. If you look closely, though, the properly dressed fan clearly threw the ball not realizing Wade would turn away from him at that exact moment. You could even see the fan make the “yikes” face as the ball bounced back to him, so lets take a chill pill for those that feel he did it on purpose.
Then came this memorable moment:

Despite watching what was clearly a blowout loss, the crowd showed their class by chanting “lets go Celtics” for the final four to five minutes of the game, perhaps understanding that they may very well have seen the last of the Big Three era, an era that brought the team a championship and a countless number of great playoff battles. Great job by Ronny Turiaf to commit an utterly unnecessary foul with 2.7 seconds remaining in the game to extend the chants, by the way.
And finally, we have this head-scratching “smh” display:

Throwing beverage – or anything else for that matter – at a player is absolutely unacceptable, and that’s what one idiotic fan decided to do against James as he headed for the exits, turning off the many viewers that were previously so fond of the overall display of Boston fans at the TD Garden. But lets take this one for what it is, rather than saying silly things like “stay classy, Boston”. It was only the act of one likely-drunken fool, and hopefully the cameras caught the act so that they can ban the clown from future games.

So you are clearly a celtics fan, if only in this series. That ball was thrown on purpose, and perhaps this is because im from Sacramento where the fans made the team stay an extra two years, but most fans cheer very loudly at the end of what could conceivably be the last home game of the year. Neither of those things typically happen in a single game but to have both happen in the same game is disgusting. I acknowledge it was only 2 fans, but from what i understand there was also quite a bit of personal attacks at LBJ and DWade. You can condone this behavior all you want, but the only thing youve changed my mind about is you.

Yes he threw the ball on purpose to return it, but not to nail Wade in the head with it. If that was the intent, don’t you think he would have thrown it a bit harder? Did the guy look THAT stupid to you? Also, I picked the Heat to win this series in 6. If I was a fan of the Celtics, I would have picked them instead, no?
