OKLAHOMA CITY — You like odds?
You don’t have to be a gambler to like them, and I have always felt that the oddsmakers are a sort of a fountain of objectivity because they have a vested interest in trying to make sure that equal amounts of money are bet both ways, thus they can profit off the vig.
My friend Jimmy Shapiro does publicity for Bovada.lv, and I will spare you my earlier Shapiro story in this post. If you want to read it, click here.
Jimmy has sent over Bovada’s odds on the NBA Finals, everything from Will There Be a Game-Winning buzzer-beater (15-1) to LeBron James’ scoring average for the series (29.5).
They are all listed below, so enjoy. And if you gamble, to steal a line from the old OTB commercials that used to run in New York, bet with your head, not over it:
Here is a quote from Bovada Sportsbook Manager Kevin Bradley on the series:
“The Heat making it to the finals is definitely a good sign in the sense that we expect to see close to double the money come in on this series than we would have if the Celtics were in. Right now Miami getting +145 on the Series Price has taken 65% of the total money on it and I would expect at the rate has been coming in will be closer to 70% by the time the first games starts.”
