The bookmakers took a hit on the 2012 NBA Finals.
The smart money came in on the Miami Heat, and the wise guys cashed. (Those who picked Heat in 5 struck gold with a 6.5-to-1 payoff.)
“Even though throughout the whole season the Heat were one of our biggest winners in future positions, unfortunately for us we lost it ll back to the bettors on the series price as the Heat opened as plus-145 underdogs, and in turn, in all five games, the majority of the public money came in on Miami,” said Bevin Bradley, manager of the Bovada.lv sportsbook.
“It was not the best result for us.”
Here are Bovada’s odds for each of the 30 NBA teams to win the 2012-13 championship.

Dallas has sold off all of their pieces, they lost in the first round, badly. And you place them ahead of a clippers team who have recently added everything they were missing along with some playoff experience. Dallas was also placed ahead of the celts, sixers, hawks, pacers, and the grizzles. All teams who have way more talent and organization than the mavs. I put mavs at 100/1.

I’m a huge Bulls fan, but it’s crazy to have us third next year. We don’t even know if Rose is going to play next year. If Rose comes back to full strength or near full strength by the year by 2013-14, then sure. But this is wishful thinking.

Chicago 3rd? Really?
The Knicks are at tasty odds. The talent is there to challenge, if they can harness it.
