After a 51-day hiatus from twitter, Kevin Wayne Durant returned to tweet a congratulatory message to the Miami Heat for winning the championship over his team. Classy move, indeed. Durant, who had 32 points and 11 rebounds in Game 5, was clearly overwhelmed after the loss, sharing an emotional moment with his mother as he headed for the locker room. Then and there, you had to feel for the three-time scoring champion, who showed his level of desire to win it all.
It was, in fact, a disappointing way to end the season. No one expected the Thunder to go down in five games, but it will have to serve as another valuable lesson for the talented but young core. The good news is that the team has improved every season since drafting Durant, and there is no reason to believe that the trend won’t continue, given his amazing work ethic.
