After making the decision to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh two summers ago, LeBron James dealt with the type of scrutiny and hate that was better suited for a WWE wrestler. All the negative attention got the best of James last season as he tried to embrace the villain role, and ultimately lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals.
He returned for this truncated season with a vengeance, but had the desire to do things as a better man on and off the court. The change in his demeanor brought on the following results: Regular season MVP, NBA Champion, Finals MVP and the silencing of his critics. James concluded his season in Game 5 with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists for a triple-double and had this to say at the end of it all: “It’s about damn time.”
About damn time, indeed. The LeBron James saga of the NBA has finally come to an end. Congratulations to him and the Miami Heat, your 2011-2012 NBA Champions.
