Tweet of the Night goes to Ryan Anderson, who not so surprisingly admitted that he would prefer to hit a three-pointer than grab a “tough contested” rebound. Anderson led the league with 2.7 3-pointers made per game, along with a league-leading 166 total 3-pointers made.
Though he didn’t really improve last season according to Chris Bernucca, he still seized the opportunity as a starter to average 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game – good enough to land him in New Orleans in a sign-and-trade deal that will pay him $34 million over four years.
The only question is how he will fare with the Hornets now that he won’t be paired with the most dominant center in the game today. Without Dwight Howard by his side, Anderson struggled mightily in the first round of the playoffs against the Pacers, averaging just 9.6 points on 34.1 percent shooting and 4.6 rebounds in 5 games. The play of rookie Anthony Davis could determine how effective Anderson may be for his new team.
