It only seems logical to assume a battle between the revamped Heat and the super-revamped Lakers is inevitable. That is, of course, unless you are a fan of teams like The Thunder, Spurs or Celtics – teams that may have enough to battle or even beat the favorites in the playoffs.
You also have other interesting teams that will likely be quite good, but perhaps not quite championship material yet like the Pacers, Nets, Knicks, Clippers, Nuggets, Memphis and well, pretty much half of the Western Conference teams that could somehow come out on top to shock the world.
There could be an endless list of predictions, and we’re here to see them all (lets not go too crazy and list teams like the Bobcats), so do share your thoughts in the comment section.

i think, health notwithstanding, the lakers are built to win a seven game series regardless of who they play. the intelligence, size, and team chemistry (by the end of the season) should keep them in any series, wearing out whomever they play. the pre-season game against sacramento, i believe, will be the ultimate blueprint of why and how they’ll win. though they lost that game, you figure the only way to stop all the weapons was by fouling. while some may point to howard’s free throw abilities as a liability, it’s been pointed out that the constant fouling will slow the game down and make transition defense that much easier for the lakers who will have ample time to set up. shaq’s free throws ultimately did not stop the lakers or eventually the heat from winning titles…nor will dwight howard’s. the lakers will have too many weapons. oh, and one last thing, on a tv replay of a nash basket from that game, what was evident to me in that replay was howard sprinting around from the right side on the baseline…he would have rebounded a miss and slammed that ball home. that will be the story of the season

Great insight. I like them a lot too, but the lack of depth is a bit of a concern.
