It’s easy to sign up, fun to pick a team (9 players within a $60,000 salary cap) and a great challenge to win. One-day leagues are the wave of the future. I’m not abandoning traditional season-long formats, of course. This is a whole new hobby.

My previous experiment built around Festus Ezeli ($3,400) has been scrapped. I’m now thinking that Jonas Valanciunas might have a memorable first game and Thaddeus Young is a real bargain at the price. So here’s the lineup, subject to more changes right up until 7:00 p.m. on October 31, when the contest closes. If I replace Kobe, I can afford a better center.
