$1,000 Sheridan Hoops Fantasy Contest
You have only five days left to enter out season-opening tournament at FanDuel. It costs just two bucks to win up to $200 from the $1,000 prize pool. You can also earn priceless bragging rights by beating me, Jeff, Bruce and Chris Sheridan. Tell your friends in traditional leagues and compete with them.
The chart has been changed since yesterday; it’s just an overview of some of the best options in each price range.

Al Jefferson | $8,300 |
Scrubs | Under $5,000 |
Jonas Valanciunas | $4,500 |
Andre Drummond | $4,200 |
Harrison Barnes | $4,000 |
Omer Asik | $4,600 |
Starters | $5,000 to $7,000 |
Kyle Lowry | $5,900 |
Thaddeus Young | $5,400 |
Andre Iguodala | $6,900 |
Kevin Martin | $6,100 |
Until today, I had Kobe Bryant in my lineup. Between his sore foot and it being the second night of a back-to-back, he’s cut. I saved $1,900 by switching from Mamba to Wesley Matthews and $700 more subbing Kevin Martin for Klay Thompson. That let me upgrade at C from Jonas Valanciunas to Marcin Gortat, who is playing the center-less Warriors. If the contest closed tonight instead of on Hallowe’en, this would be my team:
PG Ty Lawson DEN@PHI $7,300
PG Kyle Lowry IND@TOR $5,900
SG Wesley Matthews LAL@POR $6,600
SG Kevin Martin HOU@DET $6,100
SF Andre Iguodala DEN@PHI $6,900
SF Rudy Gay MEM@LAC $7,200
PF Paul Millsap DAL@UTA $7,500
PF Thaddeus Young DEN@PHI $5,400
C Marcin Gortat GS@PHO $7,000
Tomorrow, an abbreviated morning Spin will keep you up-to-date on breaking news, but every Saturday afternoon for the entire season, Jeff Nichols will take a detailed look at the week ahead for fantasy owners. Don’t miss it!
