No game escapes our scrutiny. Every morning, we look at what happened on the court, from a fantasy perspective. Then we guess what might happen next, and who we think might do well. We are sometimes spectacularly wrong, but predictions are hard, especially about the future. The vast majority of you are in at least one Rotisserie or Head-to-Head league. I’m in a few too many, each different and enjoyable. Compared to long experience at those traditional formats, I’m a novice

Tweet of the Night: Jordan Hamilton
The Nuggets will be playing in Oklahoma City tonight, and while I do not know exactly where they are staying, I would hazard a guess — based upon this tweet from Jordan Hamilton — that it the Skirvin Hotel. This hotel creeps me out every time we come here — Jordan Hamilton (@J_Goin_HAM) October 21, 2012 The Skirvin is said to be a haunted hotel. Just ask Jared Jeffries or Eddy Curry, who had ghostly encounters there during their time with the Knicks. The
SH Blog: Floppers to be put on notice, plus injury updates
Earlier today, I watched my favorite soccer team, West Bromwich Albion F.C., suffer a heartbreaking loss to defending Premier League champs Manchester City in a game that featured some very questionable officiating, made more questionable by the idea that players might have been diving. One of the non-calls could have given West Brom a penalty shot in the closing minutes. So maybe I’m a little more happy than I should be that the NBA is cracking down on flopping. We’ve got some

Nominations for the Mark Madsen award have reopened. In spite of Enes Kanter’s efforts to secure the award for most awkward dance, Oklahoma City Thunder rookie forward Hollis Thompson is putting his name on the ballot. Captured in animated GIF form and tweeted by rookie teammate Perry Jones III, Thompson is seen doing what is only known as the “Hollis.”

Dirk Nowitzki Fantasy Fallout
The decision of Dirk Nowitzki to have knee surgery isn’t a complete surprise. It will cost him all of November, a definite setback to his owners, including Mark Cuban. If there’s any consolation, Dirk should be much better in the second half; the non-surgical option might have ruined his entire season, with the Mavericks and in fantasy leagues. You cannot replace a Hall-of-Famer. Elton Brand will start at PF. How much he has left, we’ll find out. Brandan Wright is also in
Euroleague Update: Romain Sato Imprisoned in Slovenia; Weems scores 30
Romain Sato has always been known as a lockdown defender. That phrase took on a much grimmer meaning when the Fenerbahce Ulker swingman spent Thursday night in a Slovenian prison. It all started when Sato, the 31-year-old shooting guard out of the Central African Republic, was detained at the Slovenian border as his Turkish team was flying in for their Friday Euroleague contest against Union Olimpija. Slovenian police told Reuters that the biographical page on Sato’s passport was fake, and that those claims were
