Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle on Stephen Curry’s extension: “Bleacher Report reported that Curry’s contract extension doesn’t include any injury language. I’m told, however, that the Warriors have inquired about purchasing insurance in case Curry can’t fulfill the contract because of injury.”

The Mavs are hoping Chris Kaman will be able to get on the court Saturday, writes Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com:

“Kaman and the Mavs’ medical staff want to see how his calf responds to a day of work before clearing him to play in the home opener against the Charlotte Bobcats. ‘I’m hoping to play. I’m wanting to play,’ Kaman said. ‘At the same time, if it’s not something I’m able to do, then I won’t do it. I’m going to do what’s best for the team and also what’s best for myself long-term, because if I play now and set myself much farther back, that hurts the team and it also hurts me. I want to make sure I’m ready, and I think I am, but also I want to see how I feel in the morning.’ “

CBS Sports reports that the Mavericks have waived Eddy Curry in order to sign Troy Murphy. So that’s a disappointment for all the diehard Eddy Curry fans out there (both of them). Murphy will give the Mavs a PF who can stretch the floor while Dirk Nowitzki is out, and with Kaman coming back, Curry’s skill set is less essential.

Evans Clinchy of CelticsBlog.com has this quote from Bucks coach Scott Skiles on his team’s two backcourt scorers, Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings: “They get along, they pass the ball to each other, they move it to their teammates. I don’t see any issues.”
