- Should the Nets be careful of Gerald ‘Crash’ Wallace? Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News thinks so: “The Nets love the energy and defense from Gerald ‘Crash’ Wallace, the disregard for personal safety in pursuit of loose balls. But hustle can turn reckless when injuries are involved. Too many of those could ruin their season. Wallace will miss his second straight game Wednesday because of an ankle sprain, an injury sustained last week following a midair collision on his block attempt.”
- Joakim Noah regrets taking a 3-point shot yesterday when the Bulls were beating the Magic 99-93 in yesterdays contest, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN.com: “Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said Wednesday that he spoke to center Joakim Noah about his decision to shoot a 3-pointer against the Orlando Magic just to try to win Big Macs for fans at the United Center. The Bulls have a promotion where fans get a Big Mac if the Bulls score 100 points in a home win. The Bulls won 99-93 as Noah missed his 3 with .03 seconds left.”
- As Kobe Bryant and the Lakers get ready to take on the Jazz tonight, keep in mind:
Kobe Bryant shot 50% or above 14 times in 58 games last season (43% total). This year, he’s at 50% or above in all 4 games (59.7%).

So…the Lakers are +39 with Kobe on the floor through 4 games. (I KNOW I KNOW 4 GAMES, THAT’S STILL PRETTY GREAT). Melo +49.

- Great read about “The Shot” from NBA.com’s John Schuhmann: “As sports fans, we live for the action. The movement, the speed, the grace and physicality of the athletes, and the path of the ball in the air. With HD technology, we bring the action into our homes. And with the Internet, we have the ability to watch the action over and over again. Yet a still photograph, a single frame of action, can elicit feelings and responses that video can’t. Don’t think so? Just browse through Sports Illustrated‘s 100 Greatest Sports Photos of All Time.”
