MIL @ CHA: Give the Bobcats their due; they aren’t nearly as bad as last year. Nor are they as good as a 4-4 record suggests. Kemba Walker is becoming steadier at PG, Ramon Sessions and Ben Gordon can score, Byron Mullens has evolved into an effective stretch 4 and rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is learning. They still can’t stop Brandon Jennings and/or Monta Ellis, so if the Bucks get decent play from their big men, they should win yet another road game — they are a surprising 3-0 away from home.
LAC @ SAS: Two of the best teams in the better conference meet in the game of the night. Tim Duncan and Blake Griffin are both great in different ways. Chris Paul can do a few more things than Tony Parker, in fantasy and reality. The Clippers have won five straight, but I expect the Spurs to slow down Jamal Crawford just enough. Their wing depth really showed up in the first game without Kawhi Leanard (knee), as Stephen Jackson moved seamlessly into a starting role and Manu Ginobili had his best night of the year off the bench.
ORL @ ATL: After losing in Toronto yesterday and with J.J. Redick (flu) questionable, this could be a less than magical night for Orlando. The Hawks were grounded by the flu bug last week; everyone should be healthy now. Josh Smith is about due for a monster game, Al Horford can get whatever he wants and Jeff Teague is also a must-start. Kyle Korver is coming off a big game and Louis Williams is a highly productive sixth man. Use ‘em all.
DEN @ MEM: It’s too early to panic if you own Ty Lawson or Andre Iguodala. The Nuggets, for whatever reason, are off to a slow start, but the talent is there and they will figure it out. If anything, they are becoming buy-low targets, as current owners get nervous. Things could get worse tonight, as the Grizzlies are a well-oiled machine. I’m using Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph for sure in daily leagues; maybe Rudy Gay and Mike Conley.
HOU @ UTA: It’s a tough double-header for the Rockets, who lost to in L.A. last night. The Jazz are experimenting with different lineups; even with the extra day of rest and off to a 3-0 start on their home court, Utah isn’t a ‘sure thing’ unless Houston is exhausted. Al Jefferson is always a strong play, but Paul Millsap didn’t like starting at SF (6 PTS) and will be much better if Ty Corbin keeps him at PF.
