Everyone has critics, some more than others.
What often matters most is not the severity of said criticism or even that it happened, but how one reacts to it.
Houston Rockets rookie forward Royce White took offense at some perceived criticism from a recent Adrian Wojnarowski column on Yahoo! Sports.
Wojnarowski, who has been writing about sports for probably as long as White has been alive, originally published his column on Friday, November 16th.
In his column, he suggests that White may be at risk of losing his career in the NBA, and therefore losing his platform for advancing mental health awareness, should he continue to remain at odds with the Rockets.
Perhaps a lot of what he wrote was, in fact, speculative, and it may strictly be his opinion, but he has a right to express his thoughts and opinions. It did not seem as though he were opposing White.
Wojnarowski did seem to call in to question White’s decision making. And, at times, his tone comes off as accusatory:
“As White turns this organization into his betrayers, turns himself into a martyr of injustice, he should be preparing himself for the end of his NBA career.”
White goes on to accuse Wojnarowski’s writing of being “baseless and not factual…”

RWhite is the embodiment of the entitled athlete. Zero responsibility. Runs his mouth nonstop, all the while claiming he’s a victim, this time of the Rockets mgt. RW thinks he’s the only one on the planet w/problems and plays the sympathy card 24/7. Grow up punk. Read how he claims someone ‘tricked’ him into stealing stuff from Mall of America awhile back when caught. Every word out of dudes mouth sounds like fiction.

I’ve been following Royce from the time he changed high schools because of “problems.”
Then, during his whistle stop with the Gophers before he took merchandise from a store at the Mall of America only to followed up by his allegedly stealing a computer from a dorm room on campus at the University of Minnesota. The guy is a living melodrama.
So, with that backdrop, I’ve always been apprehensive about what to believe with Royce. Oh, while he was on probation with the Gophers he and his band of buddies produced a few bizarre YouTube videos. One intended to show off some musical talent. The other to show the Gophers fans how hard he was working at basketball during his suspension from the team. Oh, joy.
Next thing you know, several months later, he is being recruited for a basketball scholarship by a few top named universities and he ends up at Iowa State, home of castoffs from other top schools that didn’t work out.
A question I have is how Royce was able to travel for tournaments, away games, and NBA tryouts, given his abnormalities.

I think what Wojnarowski intended to write is that your beard is even more of a scrub than you are, Mr. Delonte White. Pretty certain we’ll see ya in the Euroleague for a few months before you begin your career at the Piggly Wiggly, dude.
