What a disappointment to Portland fans and LaMarcus Aldridge owners. He was a late scratch with back pain, and rookie Meyers Leonard (12 PTS, 3 REB) is hardly an adequate replacement. J.J. Hickson tried his best (19 PTS, 10 REB) but Deron Williams (15 PTS, 12 AST, 3 STL, 4 BLK) won the PG battle over Damian Lillard (13 PTS, 6 REB, 7 AST, 2 STL, 2 BLK) and Joe Johnson scored 21 points as the Nets pulled away down the stretch.
Other November 25 Games
DET @ NYK: Carmelo Anthony had 29 points and the Knicks’ second unit kept the pressure on. The final 21-point margin was no surprise, but a few things happened that are either fantasy flukes or trends. Charlie Villanueva finally got a chance to play, scoring 17 points in 19:29 after 17:17 of ‘action’ all season. Kyle Singler (16 points) put more distance between himself and ineffective Rodney Stuckey (2 PTS, 3 TO in 13:14) at SG. For the Knicks, SF Ronnie Brewer played just 13:59 and NBA game results from November 23 for fantasy basketball players, November 24 game previews and advice for daily leagues. came off the bench for his best game of the year: 18 points, 5-of-7 from deep and a couple of blocked shots.
PHO @ PHI: It was the Jrue Holiday show: a career-high 33 points and 13 assists. Evan Turner (16 PTS, 9 REB) played well again and Lavoy Allen (11 PTS, 6 REB, 2 BLK) had a strong start at center. Jason Richardson returned sooner than expected from a sore ankle, making Nick Young disappear. Marcin Gortat showed up for Phoenix (18 points, 7 rebounds) but would welcome a trade; Jermaine O’Neal (11 PTS, 3 REB, 2 BLK) has been surprisingly effective recently as his backup. The ‘good’ Michael Beasley also made an appearance, with an otherwise-empty 21 points. Markieff Morris remains the starting PF; Luis Scola (10 PTS, 7 REB) showed signs of life in 22 minutes.
BOS @ ORL: We keep underestimating the Magic. Their three main guards scored 56 points — Jameer Nelson (20) and J.J. Redick (21) each hit three triples — to almost beat the Celtics, who needed a late rally to force overtime. Rajon Rondo just missed a triple-double (15 PTS, 16 AST, 9 REB, 2 STL) and Kevin Garnett (24 PTS, 10 REB) dominated the frontcourt. Nikola Vucevic had a rough night vs. KG and rookie Moe Harkless was no match for Paul Pierce (23) so Josh McRoberts (7 PTS, 14 REB, 3 BLK) played almost 33 minutes off the bench.
