- Jason Terry ripped his former teammate Kris Humphries after the melee from Wednesday night between the Nets and Celtics, from Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News: “As Kris Humphries was leaving Boston Garden and declining to discuss his fracas with Rajon Rondo, Jason Terry was in the Celtics locker room insulting the Nets forward. “Some guys are tough. Some guys pretend to be. He’s one of those that pretends to be,” Terry told reporters. “I played with him (on the 2009-10 Dallas Mavericks). Maybe that’s the role Avery (Johnson) wants him to have, but he could leave that to somebody else.” Terry continued jab at Humphries, calling him “soft.” When told Doc Rivers called his entire team soft for its effort in Wednesday’s 95-83 loss to the Nets, Terry took that nugget and redirected it at Humphries. “Well, Humphries might as well play with us if that’s the case.”
- A writer for GQ apparently thinks Dwight Howard is among the list of “least influential people of 2012”. His opinion is his opinion, but this writer without a name clearly has some issues, based on what he thinks should happen in a “just world”: “Congratulations, Dwight! You’re a Laker now. And all you had to do to become one was spend months making vague demands of the Orlando Magic and then backtracking on those demands like a spineless pussy until every American hated your guts and wanted to see you fail. “I’ll stay in Orlando if you fire my coach! Or maybe I won’t. Or maybe you could fire the coach and then build a statue of me made out of frozen butter. NO WAIT TRADE ME TO BROOKLYN NO WAIT DON’T TRADE ME THERE BECAUSE I THOUGHT BROOKLYN WAS MORE CONVENIENT TO MANHATTAN THAN IT ACTUALLY IS.” In a just world, Dwight Howard will hurt his knee and doctors will take seventeen months to make a proper diagnosis.”
- Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reported on Wednesday that Chauncey Billups will suit up for the first time this season against the Timberwolves: “Los Angeles Clippers guard Chauncey Billups will make his season debut Wednesday night and is expected to start against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a league source told Yahoo! Sports. Billups tore his left Achilles tendon in a Feb. 6 game at Orlando and missed the remainder of the 2011-12 season. He wasn’t expected to return until December. Billups, 36, isn’t expected to be under a minutes restriction, but the Clippers do plan to bring him along slowly as he gets into stronger condition. Los Angeles has previously started Willie Green at shooting guard this season and has a logjam at the guard positions with Billups, Green, Chris Paul, Jamal Crawford and Eric Bledsoe. The Clippers are also still awaiting the debut of injured forward Grant Hill.”
