Tweet of the Day: Chris Wilcox
As was alluded to in last night’s blog, tragedy struck Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale and his family over the weekend. The news came two weeks after he took a leave of absence from the Rockets bench citing “personal reasons.” His daughter, Alexandra “Sasha” McHale, passed away at the early age of 23 from lupus. Chris Wilcox, a backup power forward for the Boston Celtics sent his condolences via Twitter on Tuesday.
SH Blog: Knicks-Nets autopsy; Gasol trade unlikely; Skiles empties bench for win
Regular-season games are must-see TV about as often as Raymond Felton shoots 3-of-19 in the field, but both certainly happened Monday night. The Nets turned back the Knickerbockers in overtime in the first game of their long-awaited, much-debated Battle of the Boroughs, and here’s what I got out of it: [Read more…]
SH Blog: Reggie Evans vital to Brooklyn Nets success
Rebounding: Overall, it’s an extraordinarily underrated aspect in the game of basketball. A case in point came last season, when the media clearly voted for the wrong guy. [Read more…]
Daily NBA Trivia Question: Nov. 27, 2012
Yesterday’s question wasn’t so bad, was it? Who knows when we’ll ever see Mr. Bynum in a Sixers uniform, but that is a topic of discussion for a future date. Here is today’s trivia question: Q: Who holds the NBA record for most blocked shots in a game by a rookie? [Read more…]
Hubbard: An outsider’s view of the L.A. basketball world
In the instant, overreactive world of sports, it’s always folly to make sweeping, long-term statements. For example, the Lakers started 1-4 this season and a few voices wondered aloud if the city of Los Angeles might become a Clippers town. [Read more…]
Hornets Sting Clippers; Nets Win Battle of NYC
The biggest upset of the season? The Hornets, coming off a lopsided loss the night before (their seventh straight defeat) and at the end of four road games in six nights, had ‘no chance’ against the mighty Clippers. [Read more…]
