In 1976, the Philadelphia 76ers made Darryl Dawkins their first-round pick, tabbing him fifth overall. Out of Maynard Evans High in Orlando, the 6-11, 250-pound Dawkins played 14 years in the NBA, including the first seven with the 76ers. For his career, he averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds, while shattering a few backboards.
