Given that Bryant came straight out of high school to become the player he became, the amazing accomplishment was all but expected. He likely won’t reach Abdul-Jabbar’s ridiculous mark of 38,387 points – he has already stated that he will not continue to play the game if he becomes a diminished player – and catching Karl Malone’s 36,928 points is also up in the air, but surpassing Chamberlain’s 31,419 points and Jordan’s 32,292 points will only be a matter of time.
