CLE @ BOS: Another ‘fatigue game’ where both teams played last night, this is still a great matchup of point guards. Kyrie Irving admits that his team tends to let down against weaker foes and rise to the occasion against the league’s best. However, Anderson Varejao might be sore tonight after bruising his knee, and Boston plays very well at home.
PHI @ HOU: Swinging through Texas without their best player, the Sixers are in trouble. Houston is one of the surprises of the league, playing a wide-open offensive game. James Harden is an all-star, and Jeremy Lin is learning how to complement him. With Patrick Patterson (foot) out indefinitely, Marcus Morris has become the starting PF and Greg Smith is getting extra run off the bench. The Rockets have won 8 of their last 10 at home and are the clear choice tonight.
CHA @ PHO: It’s quite likely that the Suns, who really aren’t very good, will be on a 4-game win streak after this. The Bobcats gave everything they had in L.A. last night; they will be tired and disappointed. I’m seriously considering Jared Dudley, Goran Dragic and Marcin Gortat in daily leagues, as neither of these teams is great defensively.
MIL @ MEM: A very tough assignment for the Bucks, who were all-out to win at home last night. They don’t have anyone up front who can handle Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, so I’m calling the Grizzlies — the league’s stingiest defensive team — to win a typically low-scoring contest.
GSW @ SAC: This is barely even a road game for the Warriors, who won six of seven on a two-week trip through the East. It’s also a good team against a clown show. Given that coach Keith Smart is proud of lying to the media, we have no way of knowing how badly Tyreke Evans (knee) is hurt. Marcus Thornton will be back after missing four games on a family matter, making him a sneaky fantasy play. Just maybe, DeMarcus Cousins will feel like trying, but he’s his own worst enemy.
NOH @ LAC: After losing to the Warriors last night, New Orleans is in an even worse position. The last time they visited the Clippers, the Hornets pulled off one of the season’s biggest upsets. Since then, L.A. hasn’t lost in ten games, and Blake Griffin has been sensational. Chris Paul is always great, and the bench is a tremendous strength, with Jamal Crawford in the Sixth Man of the Year photo and Matt Barnes providing energy.
