Thanks to our loyal readers for your amazing response to this week’s Sheridan Hoops Freeroll — 647 entries. Congratulations to “kemgolfer”, who won $100 cash for piling up 283.25 fantasy points. $60 for second went to “knuck 2” with 277.5, while “sports88guy” scored 270.5 to earn $30 for third.
My team was in contention all night. It’s not an “East coast bias” (just a coincidence) but David Lee was my only player west of Detroit. At 9:00, things were looking good. DraftStreet has a live scoreboard where you can follow your progress in real time, and all my scores were green — in the money — including third in the Freeroll. By 10:30, I’d faded into the 40’s. Then Mr. Lee triple-doubled, pulling me back up to 11th place (261.5) and a $5 prize.
The only league I won on Friday was a 3-man Snake, but finishing second in a 6-man Snake, third in a 10-man Salary Cap and 16th out of 550 in the $1,000 GPP paid off, as did finishing in the top half of two Double-Up events. Ten teams cost $31 to enter. I collected $60.20, missing a really big payday by that much.

That puts me up $18 for the week (each Monday I start with $100) and makes it tempting to play for higher stakes tonight, or at least in more $5 leagues than usual. Nine NBA games makes for an interesting Saturday night on the Street. Wondering what kind of lineup could be built around Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, I came up with this:
F1 LeBron James (MIA-F) $21,075
F2 Rudy Gay (MEM-F) $12,411
G1 Kobe Bryant (LAL-G) $19,755
G2 Andre Miller (DEN-G) $9,704
C1 Tyler Zeller (CLE-C) $8,894
C2 Robin Lopez (NO-C) $10,206
U1 Brandon Knight (DET-G) $9,784
U2 Marcus Morris (HOU-F) $7,902
One of many interesting wrinkles at DraftStreet is multiple entries in certain contests. I’ll have two other teams in the $2 GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool) league tonight. If you still haven’t joined, it’s free to open an account, no deposit is required and they have free leagues to help you learn the various games. Click here to get started.
