This season has been a coming-out party of sorts for Sanders, who is second in the league with three blocks per game – just behind Serge Ibaka’s 3.1 blocks. He also has an impressive triple-double under his belt and is the only other Bucks player besides Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to achieve the feat with points, rebounds and blocks.
He joined Abdul-Jabbar’s company again on Friday, from Elias: Sanders is the first Bucks player with at least 17 points and at least 20 rebounds against the Celtics since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had 22 points and 29 rebounds against the Celtics on February 5, 1975.
The good news for Simmons is that his beloved team won’t have to face Sanders again until next season after dropping three of the four games already played against Milwaukee.
