Indeed, the forward’s timing seemed off on both ends of the floor, shooting just three-of-eight from the field, missing both of his free throw attempts, managing to grab a measly one rebound in 20 minutes and generally late on defensive rotations.
Still, the most important thing about Stoudemire’s performance in the 105-100 loss against the Portland Trail Blazers is this: his legs were there, as was his explosiveness. As long as he is healthy, it’s only a matter of time before the big man gets acclimated to the speed of the game and starts dominating once again, at least on the offensive end.
