As promised yesterday, we have two contests for you this week. On Friday, it’s the Freeroll, which everyone reading this should enter. There’s absolutely no cost, no obligation and you could win $100 cash, just by picking an 8-man team for that night only. Last week there were over 600 entries; it takes both skill and luck to win in a field that large.
On Saturday, you are hereby challenged to beat me in a special 40-man contest, with an $11 entry fee. In addition to the guaranteed $400 in prize money, everyone who finishes ahead of me will get an extra $5. The Jan. 11 Freeroll is already open, and those salaries won’t change, but salaries won’t be set (or an entry link available) for the Saturday night event until Friday.
Finishing ahead of me was easy last night, as real life got in the way of my hobby. I used Rajon Rondo without knowing he’d been suspended, then was too busy with a family matter to make lineup changes before the deadline. Consider that a $6 donation to the league winners, and I expect to be paying closer attention tonight.

Dante Cunningham | $9,647 |
Roy Hibbert | $11,637 |
Andrei Kirilenko | $12,837 |
Metta World Peace | $9,620 |
Each day, the chart offers five suggestions in each of three price ranges, but there are countless other possible combinations. Once again, I’m going to leave LeBron James off my teams, because he’s very expensive and nursing a variety of injuries.
F1 Patrick Patterson (HOU-F) $11,152
F2 Dante Cunningham (MIN-F) $9,647
G1 Kobe Bryant (LAL-G) $19,271
G2 Carlos Delfino (HOU-G) $9,850
C1 Brook Lopez (BKN-C) $16,880
C2 Omer Asik (HOU-C) $11,868
U1 Roy Hibbert (IND-C) $11,637
U2 Mike Dunleavy (MIL-G) $9,578
The above lineup can be changed until the 7:00 EST deadline; I’m assuming Kobe Bryant will be a one-man team and using three Rockets, including Carlos Delfino because Chandler Parsons isn’t feeling well.
