First of all, the longest winning streak in the Association belongs to the Brooklyn Nets, who have turned P.J. Carlesimo from a seat-warmer for Phil Jackson into the leading candidate for Coach of the Month for January (Carlesimo’s predecessor, Avery Johnson, won the award in November).
Secondly, the second-longest winning streak belongs to the Denver Nuggets, who are sitting on a $13 million trade exception that figures to come into play in the next month or so.
