All-Star Weekend in Houston is just over a month away, and the starters for the All-Star Game will be announced Thursday night on TNT.
That makes it as good a time as any to reveal what they will be wearing.
According to the NBA’s news release, the uniforms designed by adidas “take inspiration from Houston’s rich aeronautical history and the speed of the jet planes that dot its skies. The uniforms’ eye-catching impact camo pattern evokes the world’s fastest fleet of aircraft with the classic silhouette of a basketball net.”
And, “The uniform lettering and numbers are inspired by the stenciled style on jet planes.” Also, “Players will take to the court in black-and-white aviator-style NBA All-Star warm-ups featuring metal zippers made with a similar anodized finish used on airplanes.”
No word on whether they actually let you fly.
The bottom line is the uniforms have the same red, white and blue color scheme every All-Star uniform seems to have.
However, here is something new: Each player’s warmup jacket will be customized to represent individual career accomplishments such as All-Star Game appearances and All-Star MVP awards, NBA titles, awards, scoring titles and the like.
And of course, replicas are available at NBAStore.com.
