Forwards Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Carlos Boozer of the Chicago Bulls were named NBA Players of the Week on Monday after leading their teams to 3-1 records.
Durant won for the Western Conference. He averaged 37.5 points, including a league season-high and career-high 52 in an overtime win at Dallas on Friday. In four games, he shot .414 (12-of-29) from the arc and a startling .964 (54-of-56) from the line.
Boozer won for the Eastern Conference. He averaged 23.0 points and a conference-best 14.8 rebounds, tallying double-doubles in all four games. He had 19 points and 20 boards in Friday’s win at Boston.
Other nominees were Miami’s LeBron James, New Orleans’ Greivis Vasquez, Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook, Philadelphia’s Jrue Holiday and Sacramento’s DeMarcus Cousins.
