5. Rudy Gobert – France
7-0 C, 1992, Cholet (France)
French League: 19.8 MPG, 8.3 PPG, 4.6 REB (2 ORB), 1.9 BLK, 76.7% 2PT, 72.7% FT
Eurocup: 10.3 MPG, 5 PPG, 2RPG, 1 BLK, 85.7% 2PT, 60% FT
Due to his size, speed and leaping ability, Gobert has a good chance of being the first international player taken in this draft. While his skill set is still somewhat limited, Gobert has the presence of mind to understand what his role is on the floor, and tries to do most of his damage around the rim. He doesn’t have a very mature post game and relies mainly on put-backs and assisted baskets to get his production.
While some scouts may drool over his potential if he develops his skill set and low-post game, it’s far from a sure thing that he will become the type of player scouts are hoping. He doesn’t play with the type of competitive spirit of someone like Serge Ibaka, a quality that can help a player take his game to the next level. He is a sure-fire NBA player who will be able to give teams an athletic shot-blocker off the bench (a la Gana Diop). But he has a long way to go before he can fulfill the top 10 draft pick status where many mocks currently have him.
6. Leo Westermann – France
6-6 PG-SG, 1992, Partizan Belgrade (Serbia)
Euroleague: 28.7 MPG, 9.6 PPG, 2.6 REB, 4.8 AST, 2.7 TO, 3.7 PF, 36.7% 2PT, 43.3% 3PT, 84.6% FT
Adriatic League: 23.7 MPG, 6.6 PPG, 2.7 REB, 2 AST, 2.8 TO, 2.8 PF, 43.1% 2PT, 18.8% 3PT, 72% FT
After leaving Tony Parker’s club ASVEL in France, Westermann has been having a breakout season with Partizan Belgrade. With great size for a point guard, Westermann has shown promise similar to that of Tomas Satoransky last year before he was drafted by the Washington Wizards in the second round.
RELATED: Kotoch’s top point guard prospects
For someone who is only 20 years old, Westermann shows excellent patience in his decision-making and does a great job reading defenses and passing angles. While his outside shooting can be inconsistent, he understands the game at a very high level and should only continue to improve as his game matures.
7. Augusto Lima – Spain
6-9 C, 1991, Unicaja Malaga (Spain)
Euroleague: 11.4 MPG, 3.8 PPG, 3.1 REB, 1.9 PF, 50% 2PT, 37.5% 3PT, 55.6% FT
Spanish ACB League: 10.5 MPG, 3.2 PPG, 2.7 REB, 39.2% 2PT, 88.2% FT
Lima passes the eye test of an NBA big man with his combination of strength and high motor. However, he is far from being NBA ready as he struggles with consistency and fundamentals. At times, he looks lost offensively, and while his effort is great on the defensive end, he sometimes gets caught making mental mistakes. He could be an excellent Eurostash pick, but he won’t be ready to touch an NBA floor for at least two years.
8. Bojan Dubljevic – Montenegro
6-9 PF, 1991, Valencia (Spain)
Eurocup: 21.3 MPG, 14.6 PPG, 4.2 REB, 1.8 TO, 1 STL, 57.6% 2PT, 44.4% 3PT, 83.8% FT
Spanish ACB League: 20.4 MPG, 12.6 PPG, 3.4 REB, 2.4 TO, 3 PF, 56.4% 2PT, 47.4% 3PT, 87.2% FT
Dubljevic is a sharp shooting forward with great mechanics and confidence in his shot. After growing up as a center, he has started to play more at the 4-spot since moving to the ACB, where he faces strong and experienced big men every game.
After signing a three-year contract with Valencia, Dubljevic will be staying in Europe for at least two more years. That means any team drafting him can sleep easy knowing he will be developing on a very high-level team on somebody else’s dime.

Giannis Adetokunbo is on the first round mock draft for draftexpress.com after they saw like ONE practice of the guy.
His brother will definitely get drafted also if he goes to any draft camps. So yeah, leaving them out makes it look like a bias against Greek players.
As for the first division in Greece, the coaches of Panathinaikos, Olympiacos, and Panionios have all said that this year the league is more competitive than it was last year. Are they lying?
Besides this isn’t even pertinent, since the Adetokunbo brothers don’t play in that league.
Niko says
Greek players always get overlooked in these rankings. There is no way that Antetokoumpo brothers cannot be at or at least near the top of a true ranking though.
For whatever reason, there is a clear bias against Greek players though.

Where are the Greek players?
Vasileios Kavvadas
Dimitrios Katsivelis
Andreas Kanonidis
Thanasis Adetokunbo
Giannis Adetokunbo
Are you really trying to say that not a single Greek player deserves draft consideration? The NBA scouts are flocking to Athens and drooling, just so you know.
AJ Mitnick says
Maybe the NBA scouts have been flocking to Greece, but in watching the Greek league this year, I have found the league to be much weaker than in recent years. Add that to the relatively low percentage of Greek guys who actually are interested to play in the NBA, since the past eras starts all skipped out on the league, makes me a bit skeptical on the Greeks.
